Emory Shoot Part One

Without further ado, here's a peek at Emory's Newborn Shoot Part One! We focused more on a casual vibe with part one, since part two includes the beach and sequins. The very talented Lindsay Parks came to our home to photograph us in our element. Our master bedroom/nursery with it's amazing light created the perfect backdrop. The above photo with baby Emory, is the recreation of Easton's newborn photo-shoot and is indeed the cherry on top to this wonderful photo session!

Thank you again to LindsayParks.com for the stunning work and your countless dedication.

Spring Tulle

{Anthropologie tulle skirt, Banana Republic v- neck, Louis Vuitton Multicolore Speedy, Roberto Cavalli mules}

If you've been following Summers In Style, you know that I love all things ballerina-inspired and especially anything tulle. Even wearing a tulle skirt with a knit v-neck will transform your afternoon tea into a tea party. I love that my retro-styled tulle skirt instantly makes me feel like a princess!

Spring Pastels

{Josh Brody dress and Celine bag}

During spring season, pastel colors tend to dominate my fashion palette and this Josh Brody dress happens to be my spring favorite. Originally a skirt but much more flattering as a pretty sundress that also doubles as a swimsuit cover-up. As a mommy on the go, sundresses are the easiest way to look chic and stay comfortable while chasing my son at the pool or park and easy accessibility is key when nursing a newborn. When the weather is warm, a lightweight dress is my go-to wardrobe staple.

Beach House

Beach House
Acrylic on Linen
36x36

One of the most common art questions I get asked is, "What is your favorite Moon Guy painting." Truth be told, my favorite is always the one I am currently painting and my latest Beach House, was indeed a labor of love. The finished piece combines my love for landscapes with the unforgettable Moon Guy.

Easter Bunny Cake

 When I was a kid, every Easter holiday my mother went to great lengths to bake her delicious Easter Bunny cake. It just so happens that my mother also believes she invented the Easter Bunny cake. Now Mr. Bunny Cake is a holiday family tradition where most of the fun comes from letting my son help decorate in his own unique way. Hope everyone has a happy Easter weekend!

Signature Spring Style

{Calypso tie-dyed caftan, Fendi Aubergine satchel, Gray Mer shoes}

When recently asked to describe my signature style, I struggled to answer because, to me, style is not a catch phrase but a lifestyle. Although, after some thought, I decided upon these three words.
1. Feminine
2. Boho
3. Glam

My style is feminine with a fun mix of boho-glam and now that spring has arrived, I look forward to wearing my favorite pink boho-glam Calypso caftan!

Spring Vibes

{Pink Soda Crystal top, Fendi pink baguette, Vigoss Studio denim shorts, Blvgari sunglasses, Gray Mer shoes}

In a lifetime ago I might have worn this cotton candy ensemble to a Sobe Sunday beach party or to Coachella music festival. Instead, I will be rocking this chic relaxed spring vibe while hunting for Easter eggs with my sons! My weekend activities may have changed since I became a mom but my boho glam style continues to evolve. Although, my spring favorite hands down is my baby pink Fendi baguette!

Sneak Peak Newborn Shoot

Here's a sneak peak and a look at behind the scenes of Emory's newborn photo shoot. Quite a lot of thought and preparation went into the making of this shoot and needless to say plenty of stress. Although the finished photos look effortless, it was by no means easy getting myself photo ready, styling my husband, managing my 2 year old Easton's temper tantrums and also a crying newborn. My vision for this shoot placed Emory washed ashore in a weathered antiqued box. The rustic aged feel of the wooden milk box combined with this incredible new life blends the old and new together harmoniously. Emory James is named in my late father's honor and the box chosen belonged to him, a fitting tribute to a beloved father.
