Fedora Swagger!

Over the weekend Easton rocked his new fedora from target! I also picked up this striped tie-dye maternity shirt since my twin belly seems to be growing by the day:)

Heart Crayon DIY

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Today, my little family celebrated with hugs and kisses, sweet treats, and this Valentine DIY craft made with melted crayola crayons!
To begin this DIY, you will need to gather all old crayons lying around the house. I happened to purchase a new set of Crayola crayons because I found it easier to remove the labels from the newer crayons. I used a pair of scissors to make a slit down the length of the crayon to remove the labels.

Once the labels are all removed, my son and I had fun breaking each crayon into very small pieces.

I then chose to separate the crayons into monochromatic colors for a more cohesive look. I purchased Wilson's heart-shaped silicone mold to bake the crayons. We added about 1/2 teaspoon of glitter to the bottom of the baking mold for a little extra sparkle! Next, we filled the baking mold about 3/4 deep with the broken crayons.

Now place in your pre-heated oven at 300 degrees and bake for 15 minutes. Carefully remove the liquified crayons from oven and allow to cool for 30 minutes or until completely hard.

Once finished baking, I cut out a simple heart stencil on white watercolor paper and added a sweet love stamp message. I then dressed up the hearts with a little twine!

From start to finish, my little family and I had so much fun preparing and baking this Valentine's craft. It's also a pretty, sugar free gift to give to little friends or classroom Valentine's.

Minion Valentine DIY!

This week for my son's classroom Valentine's treats, I created this adorable Minion Twinkie DIY! And since the minions are a favorite in my house, it's a fun craft also for the kiddos!
Materials needed:
Blue and Black construction paper
Aluminum foil
Googly eyes
Glue gun

I began with cutting out the a blue rectangle to represent the minions overalls. Next, I cut out a black strip of paper to mimic their googles. I used my hot glue gun on both the blue and black cut outs to attach one side of the construction paper to the other. You could use tape but I find a glue gun always holds and looks better.

Next, I cut out small circle of aluminum foil and attached it to the black strip with my glue gun. I then glued on googly eyes on top of foil.

Lastly, I cut out a stencil heart and stamped a sweet message.

Lunch Dates!

Instead of football on this Super Bowl Sunday, I had a precious lunch date with my son and sweet goddaughter. Between their hand holding and her sweet kisses, my weekend was full of happy moments and lovely X's and O's!

Whether you're in a relationship or single, focus this month on the people, places and favorite things you love most. Stay tuned, throughout the month of February, there will be plenty of posts about love on Summers In Style!

The romantic, photoshoot with my boo was shot by the amazing Lindsay Parks! Almost 4 kids later and I am still so thankful for his sweet love:)
