Sad Mickey

Although, costume time is easily one of Easton's favorite daily activities, today Mickey Mouse was quite sad and pouty. I couldn't resist photographing my sad little Mickey. Hope everyone is having a better day than Mickey.

Must-Haves for Mama-To-Be

Pregnancy is an exciting beautiful time in any woman's life but it's also frought with dressing a burgeoning bump, figuring out what skin care products are deemed safe to use, and especially as a second time mommy dealing with the never ending exhaustion without the nap-time mode. Now that baby Emory is 6 months, I thought I would share my pregnancy must-have fashion and beauty essentials with all the other expecting mamas-to-be.

1.Cute Flat Booties
During pregnancy and the colder months, flat booties are an absolute must in my book. As your belly grows, your balance becomes more wobbly and your feet tend to swell easily. I rocked these comfortable Sergio Rossi flat booties  throughout my entire pregnancy!

2. Boho Chic Dresses
As I am not a fan of maternity style, I find I get super creative and spend more time shopping in my closet. My swingy dresses (Free People below) were my everyday favorites during pregnancy for their style and comfort.

Pollack Style

Happy Fun Friday everyone! I am excited to share this week's fun art feature, a look at my favorite paintings created by my son, Easton. His Jackson Pollack inspired technique and bright colors is not your average 3 year old refrigerator art. Like his mommy, Easton has developed a love with painting and visual design. Thanks for following and enjoy this beautiful weekend!

Art Fun Friday

Happy Art Fun Friday everyone! Today, One Wish Two Sparkle is featuring a children's DIY watercolor card, a unique art activity that inspires imagination on even the hottest summer days. This DIY can be a fun weekly activity that encourages motor skills, sensory exploration, and color mixing. As an artist and former art teacher, I believe that every child has a yearn to ceate through visual expression. Kids of all ages from toddler to teenager will enjoy this artistic DIY. Mommies can join the fun or simply take this opportunity to sip your coffee and relax. Kudos to Starbucks for my daily survival. These days, some of my treasured moments are spent sitting and painting with my three year old son.

Materials can be gathered at your local craft store:
Watercolor set and paintbrush
Watercolor or creative blank cards
Stencils
Crystals
Newsprint

When beginning your child's watercolor DIY, it's best to lay out all materials on top of either newsprint or some type of protective paper. Next, you will lightly demonstrate how to add water to paintbrush and mix colors. Show your child how fun it is to make new colors. Then, demostrate how to loosely brush the card with organic lines and shapes. Now they are ready to paint and create! Usually my son will request a stencil heart but lately he begins his blank card with just his trusty paintbrush. A good reminder when children are painting is the importance of negative space. Not all of the card needs to be saturated with watercolor. I always encourage Easton to stop painting when he feels finished. After the painting is done the next step is to lay out the card to dry. After dry if you like, you can add extra details with star, circle, or heart crystals.

Collecting cards is somewhat of a hobby of mine, even my craft table has an organized card drawer. I always prefer handmade cards to give and to receive and, without a doubt, your child's personal artwork DIY will make it's way to the heart and mantle of your favorite people. This summer, many loved ones received Easton's loosely brushed watercolor cards on birthdays and thank you occasions.

Stripes and Lace, Oh My!

Prior to having children, my husband would have likely whisked me away for an all inclusive resort weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Life has definitely changed. Instead of a weekend away, today we took a car ride to Lion Country Safari with both our babies. Although it may sound less exotic, seeing the excitement on Easton's face was priceless during our safari ride as the zebras, ostriches, gazelles, giraffes, and rhinos moved about us as if we were a part of the landscape. The herd of zebras blocking the path felt truly authentic as we were lost in a sea of stripes. The whole family in the front seats of the car made for a great family selfie with our newest addition.

For our safari adventure, I am wearing my new lace romper from LF. Check out LF in Boca Raton this week where everything is 60% off. This lace romper is fun and sexy with a BoHo vibe that's also practical for a nursing mother. LF boutique has a unique selection that feels fresh, young, and fun, but be prepared for sifting through adorable dresses and rompers throughout the store. My fav fashion treasure find was a pair of vintage hand-customized Levi's denim cut-offs. The large inventory will bring this mama back again this weekend!

Happy Anniversary

Up until the birth of my children, my wedding weekend was by far the best time of my life. Our wedding was the one time in our lives where everyone we love came together to celebrate our love and commitment. I will forever be thankful and honored by the memories made.

A few of my favorite memories include my loving father walking me down the aisle to my future, rose petals being thrown by everyone we love after say "I Do", crying on my father's shoulder during the father-daughter dance to Brad Paisley's "You Didn't Have To Be", and especially many beautiful toasts made by family and friends throughout the wedding weekend. In celebration of my eighth wedding anniversary tomorrow, I like to share some of my favorite moments.

Thank you to my husband, a devoted father who has filled my life with joy and beautiful boys, who understands my dreams, and for being my best friend who loves without end. I do again and again.

Thanks again to Lindsay Parks Photography for capturing my special moments!
