Sunday Brunch

Yay! On this beautiful hot Labor day weekend, we were finally able to take our whole family out to Sunday brunch at OHOP. My husband and I love a nice brunch but in the past, Easton's restaurant behavior left much to be desired. Hopefully, Easton's newfound rational behavior is the future beginning of many more Sunday brunches to come. Cheers to a lovely holiday weekend!

Oh, and what better way to celebrate but with a coin sarong and vintage Chanel!

Art Fun Friday

Its official. Beginning every Friday, One Wish Two Sparkle will showcase our latest art collaborations (Moon Guy Collection) and feature favorite art and crafts projects that we are currently loving.

I am excited to share our first Art Fun Friday post, an antiqued mirror with a beautiful South African turbo shell design. One day while out antique shopping, I came across a very expensive shell mirror for sale. I immediately knew my next craft project would have to be a gorgeous shell mirror.

First, I scouted antique shops searching for the perfect-sized aged mirror. Once the mirror was located, my next step was to order online wholesale shells. I found they are much cheaper in bulk than retail shells. After all my materials were gathered, my trusty old glue gun was all that was needed to complete my shell design. Today, my home is adorned with light and sparkle from many beautiful shell mirrors, but this first mirror is still a favorite. I hope this Art Fun Friday post inspires your next craft project.

Ice Skating Dresses

Its pretty obvious that I love sparkly dresses! My friends aptly named my beloved collection, ice skating dresses.. Currently I am 5 months pregnant and have to settle on simple visits with my old friends. I am a sucker for a pretty dress and I love any occasion that calls for sequins. Hopefully one day I will be reunited with my ice skating dresses but until then I look forward to spending time with my fall and winter wardrobe.. Enjoy a few shots of my favorite ice skating dresses!

Field of Dreams

In honor of National Breastfeeding Month (NBM), I am happy to share my Field Of Dreams family photo-shoot which encourages the importance of long term breastfeeding. I passionately believe that choosing to breastfeed provides mothers and babies with countless benefits that extend well past a year old. Besides the fact that breast milk is the perfect food for babies (not all of the nutrients can even be synthesized in formula), breastfed babies are also less likely to get sick or suffer from SIDS. Breastfeeding for two years also reduces your risk of breast cancer by almost 66 percent. On a lighter note breastfeeding helps mommies get back into pre-pregnancy shape much quicker.

Besides the benefits, I have really enjoyed the closeness brought on through nursing my children. I have never felt closer to anything than I did with my babies during this formidable time.  I feel so in-sync with their needs during this period and can intuitively anticipate hunger, tiredness, and indigestion. My favorite nursing moments are morning baby snuggles, feeling their baby breath, and listening to sweet baby coos.

Since this photo-shoot was shot four months after the passing of my father, we chose to celebrate Easton's first birthday photos in a field near my father's beloved home. These pictures honor my father's legacy and celebrate his roots. Posing for the sweet mother-son picture grew out of a very organic moment. During the photo-shoot, Easton wanted to eat and we decided to continue shooting because there is no purer representation of my real life. Thank you to the amazing Lindsay Parks of Lindsay Parks Photography who captured Easton's first birthday in this picturesque setting and created our family's unforgettable printed memories.

For the look of the photo-shoot, I wanted a bohemian style that could easily blend into a rustic landscape. My Free People crochet dress was the perfect mix with the country setting and my flower child at heart. Thank you for all your support and following.

Gladiator Gold

Family photoshoot by the amazing Lindsay ParksHerve Leger gladiator gold dress, Lacoste polo on Easton and Eric}

Now that I am planning my next family beach photos, I thought I would share a past favorite, Easton's second birthday shoot! One of my last big dress purchases before I got pregnant with my second child, was this gladiator-style, gold hardware, Herve Leger dress. Although this dress doesn't have any sequins, the gold hardware is insanely cool!  I was shopping online one night on Neiman Marcus and noticed this dress on sale and just could not resist. This style of dress is a total departure from my usual dress collection but with the unique cutouts, Roman gladiator-style and bandage material, it has quickly become one of my favorites. I love how through fashion I can be a mommy by day and  a warrior princess by night.

Beach Walk

Today was a hurricane-like day, but on this evening's beach walk, the ocean was calm, the sand was wonderfully compact and the heavenly sky produced the most incredible colors. Wishing everyone a beautiful weekend!

Summer Sunnies

Blvgari sunglasses

Long gone are the days spent with endless time getting ready. More often than not, I am rushing out of the door with less than 5 minutes to make myself look somewhat presentable (mommy problems). By now I have my running-out-the-door routine down to a science. I throw on an outfit which has to accommodate a nursing baby (annoyingly limiting), check hair for baby spit up, apply lipgloss, restock diaper bag, dress my children, locate a ridicously small toy, grab my purse and go. No matter what, I am never in too much of a hurry to leave home without my favorite pair of sunnies.

Sunglasses are a girl's best friend especially a mommy's, my sunnies are my go-to accessory for looking chic and hiding my up all nighters from the world. My sunnies also help protect my light eyes from the bright sun. Lately, this summer I have found myself reaching for these insanely gorgeous Bvlgari sunglasses. I scooped this pair up at the outlets and adore the intricate crystal flower detail.

What favorite sunnies are you wearing this season?

Be Inspired

{Mandalay dress, Roberto Cavalli mules, Fendi spyglass}

Since this mommy has been working out steadily for the past month, I look forward to future style moments in my powder blue dress (ice skating inspiration). Both the dress and shoes are old personal favorites of mine.
